Aurecon Ports and coastal 6 Dawei Sea Port Myanmar Client Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited This greenfield port project involves the development of port facilities market to facilitate growth and development in this fast growing region. The project, undertaken in joint venture with Halcrow, includes site data collection, master planning, concept development, preliminary and detailed design. The project includes eight container terminals, five coal import berths, two iron ore import berths, two petrochemical import berths, four petrochemical export berths, two crude oil import berths, 10 steel product export berths and 17 general cargo berths. To support this projected trade, an 18 000 ha industrial estate surrounding the proposed port is planned. The Ore Line Expansion Project FEL-2 South Africa Client The Mining Companies (Northern Kalahari mining firms) The Ore Line Expansion Project is being undertaken to determine viable strategies to expand the throughput capacity of the ore line, spanning almost 900 kilometres from the Port of Saldanha to Sishen, from 60 Mtpa to over 100 Mtpa. The study involved detailed analysis of multiple aspects of the supply chain including assessment of the existing asset, capital and operation costs to achieve the nominated operational targets, the determination of rail and port operating practices, bulk materials handling procedures and complex rail yard operations. Paradip Port India Client Paradip Port Trust Paradip Port Trust commissioned Aurecon to prepare a master plan and detailed project report for the development of an additional dock to cater for anticipated traffic growth of the 14 berth port (with another five berths already in development). Aurecon provided a trade assessment of Western Dock for a 30 year period, a topographic survey and geotechnical investigation, as well as Western Dock development options and master planning. We undertook planning, design costing and financial feasibility for the iron ore export terminal (30 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa)), as well as coal export (25 Mtpa) and coal import terminals (20 Mtpa). Aurecon also provided a dredging assessment and methodology, and a financial feasibility assessment and costing for the development of each terminal.
